Abstract: The hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) poses a serious threat to human health. The main target of one of the immunotherapeutic approaches is γδ T cells. γδ T cells as one of the subpopulations of T lymphocytes can directly recognize and target HCC cells, making them a potential target for immunotherapy. In this paper, we discussed the biological properties of γδ T cells and their dual roles within HCC cells and therapeutic strategies, and provide an overview on the research of γδ T cell therapy for HCC.
