Abstract:
Objective To explore the efficiency of discharge preparation service in reducing re-admission rate of male patients with schizophrenia.
Methods Totally 35 male patients with schizophrenia from January to March 2018 were selected as control group, and 38 male patients with schizophrenia from April to June 2018 were selected as observation group. The control group was conducted with routine nursing service, discharge guidance and telephone follow-up, while the observation group was conducted with discharge preparation service on the basis of routine nursing. The observation periold was 3 months. The discharge readiness, satisfaction degree to discharge and re-admission rate at 6, 12 and 18 months after discharge were compared between the two groups.
Results In the observation group, the discharge readiness and satisfaction degree to discharge were significantly better than those in the control group(
P<0.05), and the re-admission rates at 6, 12 and 18 months after discharge were significantly lower than those in the control group(
P<0.05).
Conclusion Implementation of discharge preparation service for male patients with schizophrenic can improve the discharge readiness and satisfaction degree to discharge, and reduce the re-admission rate.
